Are you looking for the best RV parks near San Francisco? While you won't find any great options inside the city limits, you will find many all around the SF Bay Area.
Whether you're rolling through California's central coast while living your best van life, or you've decided to spend a weekend camping close to San Francisco, you'll find the perfect one for you.
You can choose whether you want to stay at the beach or in a redwood forest; go off the grid or have free Wi-Fi; lounge in a pool or let your pup run free; and much more.
Read on for my list of top 15 finds around the Bay Area, and one I think you should avoid.
Most offer daily and weekly rates. Some of the state and regional parks limit the length of your stay, while other San Francisco RV parks offer extended stay applications.
For each one, I've outlined information about the location, including proximity to public transportation and downtown San Francisco, its amenities, rates, booking details, and other tips.
While you won't find any free RV parking in San Francisco, you'll find a range of accessible prices, which I mention in the description of these best RV parks in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Many of these parks offer discounts for Good Sam or AAA members, and a seventh night free for weekly stays. Make sure to ask when you make your reservation.
I created the above San Francisco RV park map so you can get a lay of the land. Each number corresponds with the RV park or campground described below.
You'll notice that I've labeled and highlighted the regions in and around the SF Bay Area in different colors.
My top 15 RV parks near San Francisco are organized first by region (starting with the Peninsula and working clockwise), then by proximity to San Francisco within that region. They are NOT ordered by rating or reviews.

The prime location of Candlestick RV Park—the only RV park in San Francisco actually within the city limits—will attract vacationers who do not the San Francisco area.
It occupies the site of Candlestick Park, the 49ers NFL team's former home, which was demolished.
The location may look convenient for its access to the city, but a read-through of the many reviews will give you the truth.
Candlestick RV Park is run-down, dirty, and poorly maintained. It is also home to many permanent residents.
Furthermore, the neighborhood is not the safest, so I really can't recommend this one.
