You can also catch performances at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, the SAP Center in San Jose, and at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View.
You also won't want to miss one of the biggest music festivals in the area this month, BottleRock in Napa.
This three-day event features top artists such as Stevie Nicks, Megan Thee Stallion, Nelly, Pearl Jam, Ed Sheeran, and others.

There are a variety of places to find tickets to San Francisco concerts in May. Here are a few I recommend.
Ticketmaster: They are a good option to buy first run tickets and sell tickets at face value. They have a large inventory. The downside is that they do have a service fee for all purchases. Find tickets for San Francisco concerts in May on Ticketmaster.
TicketNetwork: Another option to find great tickets is TicketNetwork. They offer third party tickets and it's a great place to find seats for sold out shows or more tickets for those close to selling out. Find out more here.

The Bill Graham Civic Auditorium is a concert and events venue that holds around 8,000 people. It's situated right next to City Hall in San Francisco's Civic Center District. You will find both general admission and reserved seating at this venue.
If it's general admission, then you will find standing room only on the main floor with first come, first served seating in the balcony.
It's easy to access this venue via public transportation on BART (using the Civic Center stop), F streetcar, or on the 6, 7, 9, or 21 buses.

The Masonic is a multi-use venue at the top of San Francisco's Nob Hill district. They feature several concerts, comedians and other performers throughout the year. Performances here are either general admission or assigned seating.
You will find plenty of high-end restaurants nearby. It holds around 3,100 people and is easily accessible using the California Cable Car or the #1 Bus.

The Fillmore is a famous venue in the Western Addition district. It offers both general admission and assigned seating shows.
You will find several live music performances each week here. It holds around 1,100 people and is easy to access using the 22 or 38 buses.

Another small, but wonderful concert venue in San Francisco is The Independent. It's a standing room only venue that fits around 400 people for each show.
It's along the popular Divisadero corridor with more than a dozen local shops, restaurants, and bars. You can access this venue using the 5, 21 or 24 buses.
Carnaval Festival: If you love Salsa music, then head over to the Mission District this May for the annual Carnaval Festival. This 2-day street fair offers hours of free music and dancing in the streets. It's the Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend every year.
SF Symphony: Another place to find San Francisco concerts in May is with the SF Symphony. They offer almost a dozen shows a month. Their performances range from classics to movie scores.
SF Jazz Center: Our new jazz center is another place to find great San Francisco concerts in May. They have more than one stage with a performance or two every night of the week.
Other top cities around the SF Bay also have great concert venues. This month, three cities have some great shows for music lovers.
