1. The Westin St. Francis San Francisco
A cable car rolling past the front of the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco's Union Square District.The Westin St. Francis is located in the heart of all the action. It's the only hotel located across the street from Union Square Plaza and is the ideal location for travelers looking for the full SF experience.
This historical building offers beautiful details both inside and out. All three sections of the hotel (built at different times) offer a slightly different experience and you can book a room based on your preference. You can also select rooms without a view (to save a little $$), with a partial view or with a full view.
Make sure to set aside a little time for a tasting at the Chateau Montelena Tasting Room on the first floor. You can also relax with a cocktail or grab some food in the Clock Bar. There are also two other wonderful American restaurants (Caruso's and The Oak Room Restaurant) inside the hotel.

2. Hilton San Francisco Union Square
The Hilton Union Square is another favorite of travelers seeking to stay in this popular area. It's two blocks from Union Square and close to the action.
The Hilton is a huge facility with over 1,900 rooms and a number of great amenities. It takes up almost an entire block and has a bar, restaurant, places to shop, and more.
It also has an outdoor heated swimming pool.
It's perfect for those wanting to do a little shopping in Union Square, spend a night out at the theater, or check out some of our best restaurants and nightlife.

3. Grand Hyatt San Francisco
The Grand Hyatt is another great option for both vacationers and business travelers. It's about a block off Union Square and close to many great shops and restaurants in the area.
The Grand Hyatt is a large, 36-story hotel that is also close to the Financial District and just two blocks from Chinatown.
Many of the rooms, and even the gym, have great views.
On site, there is a coffee bar and a popular restaurant, OneUp, with great happy hours (more great happy hour ideas here).
They also offer free Wifi, daily newspapers, comfy beds, and in-room mini-fridges.

4. Hotel Zeppelin San Francisco
Hotel Zeppelin is a little different than the first three options. This is a smaller, 7-story building located near the middle of the district.
This option for San Francisco hotels in Union Square offers luxury in a more intimate setting with only 164 guest rooms.
Each room has a number of amenities including down comforters, cozy bathrobes, and luxury bedding. This hotel is pet-friendly, offers free Wifi, and has a fitness center.

5. Hotel Triton
The Hotel Triton is another option that is a little smaller, yet still filled with amenities. It's located just a few blocks off the square and is really close to the Chinatown dragon gate.
This hotel has a modern feel and the rooms all pay tribute to Jack Kerouac. It has fun, colorful decor and all of the rooms have a flat screen TV and minibar. It also has a fitness center and offers car service to the Financial District on weekdays.

Another smaller boutique option is the Hotel Spero. Located just two blocks from Union Square, this one is in the prime location for both tourists and business travelers.
It has a colorful décor and is more of a boutique style hotel. I also love the food and drinks on the main level at Jasper's Corner Tap & Kitchen.
Its amenities include a fitness center, free Wi-Fi, 24-hour business center, and more.
It's a perfect fit for those spending a lot of time in Union Square, the Theater District, or checking out the museums in the South of Market area. You can also easily get to most districts and parts of the city by walking just a couple of blocks to public transit on Market Street.
