San Francisco in February is a wonderful time to visit. You will find so many fun things to do including sporting events, concerts, plays, and festivals.
You can also see top attractions, spoil your sweetie on Valentine's Day and enjoy the SF Ballet.
Here you will find tips on what's on this month as well as some tips on what to wear and average temperatures.

San Francisco Events in February
San Francisco in February offers a variety of events including the concerts, SF Writers Conference, and film festivals. You will also find some great theater shows, more wine tasting events, and the Noise Pop Music & Art Festival.

What to Wear in February & Average Weather Temperatures
The weather in San Francisco in February is beautiful. It's during our rainy season, so you will find a few rainy days this month. However, most days you will find temps in the lower 60s with a few hours of sunshine throughout the day.
San Francisco weather temperatures dips down into the high 40s a night, so make sure to bring along some warmer items for the evenings.
What should you wear in San Francisco this month? I recommend a lightweight shirt and a light jacket during the day with a slightly heavier jacket or shirt at night. I typically wear long pants as the wind can cool it down quickly in some districts.

Concerts & Live Music
You will find several concerts each night in San Francisco. You will find venues around town with both large shows and live music from locally popular musicians.
Top picks include those at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, The Independent, and the Fillmore. You will also find some great comedy shows this month too.

Theater and Plays
The February calendar is full of fun theater performances, musicals and play. You will find at least one large, traveling Broadway show in February each year. Shows on stage here include those such as Wicked, Hamilton, Aladdin, and The Lion King.
You will also find smaller shows at venues all around town such as The SF Playhouse, the American Conservatory Theater, and others.

Chinese New Year's Parade & Festival
Every year, thousands of people descend upon SF's Chinatown district to celebrate the Chinese New Year (also known as the Lunar New Year). It's a full month of activities with the highlight being the large parade through the heart of the district.

Sports in San Francisco in February
Cheer on the local sports teams this San Francisco in February. Both the Golden State Warriors and the San Jose Sharks are at home with almost a half dozen games each. Here are the February schedules for both of our professional teams.

SF Symphony in February
This San Francisco in February, you will find several performances by the SF Symphony. The Symphony is the perfect option for those that love classical music. They also perform several modern pieces such as scores from hit movies such as Harry Potter, Star Wars, and others.
All shows this month are in the Civic Center district at Davies Symphony Hall.

Orchid Show & Exposition
Don't miss one of the most colorful events this San Francisco in February. The annual Orchid Exposition, hosted by the San Francisco Orchid Society, opens its doors to the public.

San Francisco Ballet
The San Francisco Ballet's season runs from January to May each year. They offer several performances each month including classics such as Cinderella, Frankenstein, and others.
All of their performances are at the War Memorial Opera House across the street from City Hall in the Civic Center district.
